Our purpose is to bring emerging knowledge, tools, and technologies into professional practice through rigorous, accessible, application-oriented learning experiences.

Your training shouldn't stop

Psychology is in constant development: new interventions, assessment instruments, research methods, and forms of practice keep emerging. Professional training cannot be understood as a process that ends with a university degree.

Our mission is to make it easier to update and broaden professional competencies without requiring professionals to interrupt their working life: continuing education that is focused and compatible with professional life.

We aim to help close the gap between university training and the competencies demanded by contemporary professional practice: concrete knowledge and skills, with an emphasis on understanding them, practicing them, and transferring them to real situations.

Psychologists and professionals in the human, social, and health sciences, at any point in their career: clinical, organizational, educational, legal, and research settings.

Skinner developed the method; the technology was missing.

A teaching machine for every student

In 1954 Skinner presented his teaching machine at a conference at the University of Pittsburgh. His machine was built on three principles: advancing through successive approximations, responding actively, and receiving immediate reinforcement.

The principles were never the problem; the scale was. No teacher can arrange those contingencies for every student in a whole classroom at once. Walden Lab was born as a proposal to close that technological gap: using artificial intelligence to arrange and adjust learning contingencies individually, student by student.

The support fades gradually; the competency remains.

Short, live, hands-on courses: learning with AI

Each course lasts approximately one month and combines live sessions, independent study, case analysis, and practical activities.

An AI-based tutor and a professor accompany the process and adjust the level of help to each student's progress. This support gradually decreases, so that the competency developed can last beyond the course.

Why Walden?

The name Walden Lab is inspired by Walden Two, B. F. Skinner's work examining the role of behavioral science, education, and the design of environments in building societies oriented toward well-being and human development. From this perspective, we understand learning as a process that can be studied, designed, and improved through empirical evidence.

Walden Lab takes up this principle to create an educational laboratory where psychology, behavioral science, and artificial intelligence converge. We use AI as a tool to enable more accessible, personalized, and applied learning experiences, promoting the acquisition of knowledge and skills relevant to today's professional challenges.
